Symbols are a mysterious form of language where a number of meanings can flow out from what appears to be a single structure. Originally, I took a photo of my ear to use as an abstract shape, and over time it developed as a trademark 'shell' symbol infused with Arabic design and architectural influences. It has become a trademark signature of my work: an amalgated symbol which to me is associated with journeys, physical and spiritual; with identity, communication and nature, organic evolution.
